Defending Groovy champion Biggie Irie performing at the 2007 Int'l Soca Monarch Finals
Trinidad - Wednesday January 23, 2008 - Twenty one fnalists have been announced to compete at 'Fantastic Friday' (Int'l Soca Monarch Finals) to be held on Carnival Friday February 1st at the Queens Park Oval.
Current Groovy Soca Monarch champ Biggie Irie will defend against fellow Bajan Mr Dale, Tizzy (from Barbados). All the other competitors are Trinidad based.
In the Power Soca Monarch category, Iwer defends against old time rival Bunji Garlin, his wife Faye-Ann Lyons, plus several other island representatives; including Problem Child (St Vincent, Ricky T (St Lucia), Nnika Francis (Grenada) and Luni and Electrify (Grenada).
